Job specification - Provide high-quality optical services, including dispensing spectacles and contact lenses. - Conduct thorough patient assessments to ensure accurate measurements and comfortable fittings. - Offer expert advice on frame selection, lenses, and optical products based on patient needs and preferences. - Ensure that patients receive the best possible optical care, addressing any concerns or queries they may have. - Maintain accurate patient records and manage stock levels for optical supplies. - Work closely with the rest of the optical team to ensure smooth operations and efficient service delivery. Candidate requirements - Must have attained a full-time diploma which was followed by working under supervision for a year. - Must be registered as an optician by the General Optical Council (GOC). - Must attain a three-year distance learning qualification offered by ABDO (Association of British Dispensing Opticians). - Must have a minimum of two years of working experience as an optician in the United Kingdom. - Must be well-trained and certified personnel in fitting contact lenses. - Must have excellent attention to detail, particularly for interpreting prescriptions and checking lenses. - Must be available to travel at any point in time. Role scope

  • Advise patients on lenses, frames, measurements and product choices with clarity and care.
  • Support handover from the clinical team into a confident dispensing conversation.
  • Maintain strong standards around compliance, documentation, aftercare and practice presentation.

Candidate profile
