We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Locum Optometrist to join the confidential optical practice practice in Warwickshire. As a Locum Optometrist, you will be essential in helping patients maintain and improve their vision and overall eye health. Job specification - Address urgent eye health concerns, offering immediate care and making referrals when necessary. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. - Diagnose and manage eye conditions, including but not limited to glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. - Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective lenses. - Perform detailed eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect ocular diseases or abnormalities. - Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring that each patient's visual needs are met. - Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery. Candidate requirements - Must have a Doctor of Optometry degree and be registered under the General Optical Council. - Must have a valid state license to practice Optometry in the United Kingdom. - Flexibility: Availablity to receive locum tasks throughout the year, while having the flexibility to accommodate occasional shifts or extended work periods, preferred - Skillset: High level of expertise in identifying and treating various eye-related conditions and disorders. - Mobility: Must be available to travel to various places of practice across Warwickshire. Role scope

  • Deliver sight tests, clinical assessment and patient communication to a consistently high standard.
