We are looking for a talented Locum Optometrist to join the confidential practice team in Greater Malvern, Worcestershire. In this role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, from conducting detailed eye exams to diagnosing and managing a range of ocular conditions. As part of a dedicated healthcare team, you will play a key role in ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care and attention. Job specification - Adhere to all relevant healthcare guidelines, ensuring best practices in every aspect of patient care. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver well-rounded patient care. - Diagnose and treat a variety of eye conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. - Engage with the local community through eye health awareness programs and screening events. - Keep meticulous records of patient histories, examination results, treatment plans, and follow-up visits. - Offer expert advice to patients on maintaining optimal eye health, including the proper use of contact lenses and the importance of routine eye check-ups. - Perform in-depth eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess vision and identify eye conditions. - Prescribe and customize eyewear, including glasses and contact lenses, to meet individual patient needs. - Provide essential care before and after eye surgeries, ensuring patients' recovery and ongoing Candidate requirements - Must be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC). - Have 2-3 years of experience as an optometrist (written references must be provided). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board. - Be on track to meet the statutory points requirements for CPD. - Accredited by the MECs or WECs (willing to gain accreditation). Role scope

  • Deliver sight tests, clinical assessment and patient communication to a consistently high standard.
