Job specification - Adhere to all relevant healthcare guidelines, ensuring best practices in every aspect of patient care. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver well-rounded patient care. - Keep meticulous records of patient histories, examination results, treatment plans, and follow-up visits. - Perform in-depth eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess vision and identify eye conditions. - Prescribe and customize eyewear, including glasses and contact lenses, to meet individual patient needs. - Provide essential care before and after eye surgeries, ensuring patients' recovery and ongoing eye health. Candidate requirements - Must have an Optometry Degree (OD). - Must be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC). - Have 2-3 years of experience as an optometrist (written references must be provided). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Be on track to meet the statutory points requirements for CPD. Role scope
- Deliver sight tests, clinical assessment and patient communication to a consistently high standard.
- Use professional judgement around referral, clinical escalation and patient education.
- Work with the practice team to keep clinics safe, smooth and commercially aware without rushing clinical quality.
