As a locum, you will carry out comprehensive eye examinations, prescribe corrective lenses, and ensure patients Job specification - Address patient queries and concerns professionally, ensuring a positive patient experience. - Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and ocular health. - Diagnose and manage common eye conditions. - Prescribe and fit corrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses) according to patient needs. - Identify ocular signs of systemic conditions and refer to appropriate healthcare professionals as necessary. - Provide clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive eye care advice. Role scope
- Deliver sight tests, clinical assessment and patient communication to a consistently high standard.
- Use professional judgement around referral, clinical escalation and patient education.
- Work with the practice team to keep clinics safe, smooth and commercially aware without rushing clinical quality.
