Working alongside the optometrist and wider team, the Optical Assistant will contribute to maintaining high clinical standards and an efficient, well-organised practice environment. Job specification - Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a friendly and professional first point of contact at the practice. - Manage front-of-house duties, including answering calls, responding to enquiries, and handling appointment bookings and confirmations. - Conduct pre-screening assessments and carry out preliminary tests as required, supporting the optometrist in delivering high-quality patient care. - Assist patients with selecting frames and lenses, offering expert advice on style, fit, and suitability. - Process payments, manage orders, and handle transactions accurately and efficiently. - Maintain and update patient records with precision, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards. - Work closely with the optometrist and the wider team to ensure smooth day-to-day clinic operations and an exceptional patient experience. - Provide dispensing support where applicable.
