Job specification Assist patients with pre-screening tests and ensure a positive experience throughout their visit. Demonstrate a solid understanding of the general principles of optometry and ophthalmic lenses. Provide expert advice on spectacle frames, including their qualities and benefits. Showcase excellent knowledge of various lens types and materials, with familiarity in Zeiss and Nikon lenses being advantageous. Create and sell bespoke eyewear, collaborating with top frame makers and lens suppliers. Fit, adjust, and repair frames using standard industry equipment. Develop skills and knowledge with an encouraged pathway to the ABDO diploma course. Provide guidance on the use, care, and benefits of contact lenses, including teaching patients how to use them correctly. Promote and manage patient enrolment in contact lens direct debit schemes.
